101/1001 Update
Oct. 15th, 2021 08:38 amNever let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. - Babe Ruth
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I've finished the fairly traumatizing GoRuck book of the month, Blackhawk Down: A Story of Modern War by Mark Bowden. No progress with the other GoRuck tasks. We will be running two separate 5Ks this weekend, on the same day. I have participated in one Tai Chi/Qigong class this week.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm reading The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning, Elevate Your Life by Robin S. Sharma. I'm still rereading The Art of War by Sun Tzu from my permanent library. Hiaku. I've 'sat' formal Zazen virtually twice this week, with a new koan, after the second Critical Care Transport class this week was canceled.
New word: Onychophagia, the practice of biting one's nails, esp. when done habitually and as a symptom of emotional disturbance.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: The daily driver is finally out of the shop and the rack is installed. I've gotten my COVID-19 booster.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm still waiting to see if they open the station to volunteers soon - maybe I'll wait until two weeks after my booster shot to schedule. I have completed the fifth Critical Care Transport class, ABG (Arterial Blood Gasses)/Respiratory/Ventilator Assessment and Treatment.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: My QSL cards for the HAM station have arrived at Base Station, USPS Priority Mail. I'm still awaiting three more yards of gravel. I still hope to finish the Pump House and get two coats of paint on the Gate House before the full winter rains come. We dumped the black and grey water tanks, and we've gotten rid of more trash.
Adventure/Doing Stuff: We are planning on one more road trip next weekend.
Hiaku
