Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work. - Peter F. Drucker

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: No progress with the other GoRuck tasks; I've actually had very little time. I'll get my makeups in. I have participated in one Tai Chi/Qigong class this week. I'll be running a 10K this upcoming weekend.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I've finished reading The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning, Elevate Your Life by Robin S. Sharma. I'm considering trying out the 5AM Club protocol. I'm still grinding through The Art of War by Sun Tzu from my permanent library, and I've picked up Dropping the Struggle: Seven Ways to Love the Life You Have by Roger Housden.

New word: Facile means "too easily accomplished or attained."

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I've completed the Advanced Tactical Emergency Casualty Course, the civilian version of a combat medic/tactical medicine course. There were two days of classroom and gruesome videos with some hands-on practice, and then a day of scenarios in a dark decommissioned meatpacking plant, with 12-gauge shotgun blanks being fired and explosions and live actors, and being soaked in literal gallons of fake blood, while we took turns practicing what we learned. The scenarios themselves were complex and intense, too much to describe here. All three days were good stress inoculation for being able to keep someone alive after a catastrophic trauma while considering how to keep yourself safe, and I'm glad I took this course. I have a greater understanding and competency with active shooter/active violence events, above my scope of practice as an EMT.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: The 3 yards of gravel have arrived. Small projects of organization are still being worked on onboard Ol' Number 3.

Adventure/Doing Stuff: We did take one more short road trip this last weekend before the rain started. We car camped, found a bunch of old and rare geocaches (mostly before 2003) including one of the Washington Oldies, completed the GoRuck Fight/Tactical Level 1 self-defense course, and visited the Olympic National Park and we were sworn in as Junior Rangers. 30 hours, 600ish miles, socially distanced with good food, great training, and excellent late-night free tamales on the way back. *smile*
