Sometimes, I think, the things we see are shadows of the things to be; That what we plan we build. - Phoebe Cary

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I completed November's GoRuck 'Persevere' Challenge, rucking all of the 22 miles, and finished the book of the month, A Grief Observed by CS Lewis, last week. I've slapped the patch on my ruck. We still owe September's GoRuck workout and all of the GoRuck October tasks except for the book. I have participated in two Tai Chi/Qigong classes this week - the dojo is closed Thursday and Friday. I have signed up for the mostly-free registration for next year's Bubble and Foam Glow Runs.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still working through The Art of War by Sun Tzu from my permanent library, and Dropping the Struggle: Seven Ways to Love the Life You Have by Roger Housden, but now I've picked up Notes from an Apocalypse: A Personal Journey to the End of the World and Back by Mark O'Connell. I'm still behind, but still engaging in another month of daily meditation.

New words: Velleity, meaning the lowest degree of volition, a slight wish or tendency. Amity means "friendship" or "friendly relations between nations."

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: I got my yearly physical last week. I'm going to have to make a few dietary changes.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I completed my eighth Critical Care Transport class this week - Burn Assessment and Treatment last week.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: We're making some small progress with permits, with an initial septic system site visit. The grey and blackwater tanks were emptied, in the rain, and some leaves were raked off the common areas. The WorkWhorse, unfortunately, has a flat tire, so the daily driver did all of the towing. Most of the gravel was spread into either the driveway, the turnaround, or common paths to make them less muddy and safer. 200 feet of high-pressure discharge line are in the Pump House, to be part of Base Station's fire suppression system. One of Base Station's HAM radios (mine) was fixed and returned, thanks to The Old Man, so we have a full array of communications - and I can get started on making some contacts.

Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress.
