101/1001 Update
Feb. 26th, 2022 09:17 am“Risk is like fire; if controlled it will help you; if uncontrolled it will rise up and destroy you.” – Theodore Roosevelt
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm still doing 120 daily pushups, in three sets. I've attended three more Qigong/Tai Chi classes this week. Once, I was moved to the advanced group when nobody else in my group showed up for class - and I am still advancing in the form with the intermediate group.
We have completed the DT Hero WOD (5 Rounds of 12 Deadlifts, 9 Hang Power Cleans, and 6 Push Jerks, all while wearing my 35-lb. ruck and using Faye's sandbag plus an extra 20-lb. inner bag), completing the GoRuck February 'Strength' challenge. Why am I not using my own sandbag? Both of my inner bags had split and it was dusting everything. *grin* New heavier duty sandbag on the way!
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still finishing The Art of War by Sun Tzu from my permanent library. I've started Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder. I'm continuing my daily meditation for the month of February. I've 'sat' yet another virtual Zazen loving-kindness metta, my third makeup of the month.
New words: Nope.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: I completed a 2-CEU class, Beaverton Criminal Justice System 101: A Practical Training for Behavioral Health Practitioners, that added up to enough education hours for my addiction counselor recertification.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: No progress.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: I met with the general contractor this week, and we started the process of engineering the gravel and concrete for the Large Vehicle Bay. The landscaping for the dog run has been started. We also got the septic site inspection approval, so we are proceeding with basic excavation and the permitting process.
Adventure/Doing Stuff: We are planning a socially-distanced car-camping road trip to finish an Oregon Counties Geocaching Challenge (I only need Gilliam and Crook Counties) and maybe pick up a Delorme square or two, this weekend.
