I have just formally accepted an internship position at University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. There were no other offers over the weekend. A phone call with Dr. Schwartz, the Training Director, also cleared me to go to Burning Man, and my internship will start on Tuesday, September 5th.

The internship will involve a 6-month geropsychology rotation, and a 6-month neuropsychology rotation, both probably at the John Umstead Hospital in Butner, North Carolina. Information about my program can be found here: http://www.unc.edu/~abarrick/

This process has occupied much of my time and energy, so I took a weekend off and spent time with Tamarta and her BF. I learned some about some of her emotional safety and commmunication, worked on my own energy and chakras, was taught a lesson on manners, caught up with the local BIMC, and connected with the Daimyo and my own BF. Oh, and I bought another Utilikilt.

Congratulations!

You will be missed Kindred my brother & most honorable brother of my King. But a year goes by so quickly, you will return to us with a whole new set of experiences and growth and lessons learned, challenges overcome, battles won. We are very proud of you.

I wish I could remember what the rest of this post was about but all I remember is "utilikilt." *purrrrssss*

Seriously though you will be missed! I am also very happy you are getting this oppurtunity and quite obviously this is where the world is sending you so yeah for UNC. Boo for all the Oregon possiblities who have lost such a wonderful oppurtunity to have you as their intern.

We will enjoy you thoroughly while you are here and we will see you living in Oregon again next April?

Much Love!

*bows* Seems your path was clear after all. This is good news, I'm happy for you. And yes, a year will go by fast. Who knows what you will learn? You will be missed, but I'm sure you'll still try to find time to post here and there.

Oss!

Congratulations Samuel,

It is great that you have gotten this done.

NC is a lot closer to Texas than is Oregon. I would bet that we will be seeing you more often, at least until September 2007

Whistle when you can.

A New Braunfels Man.

Yay!!

I'm sending you love and a big bottle of big bug spray.

You still have a plane ticket to the Bay Area, redeemable at any time from any starting location.

Just so as you know

Guess I'll be reading up about North Carolina now. Should be an interesting place for you to explore for a while. Congrats on the internship, although sad about the geographical distance it will put between you and many of your friends. But think of the people you will meet and the stories you will have to tell!
