Aug. 25th, 2006 08:31 amToday, as I was practicing my walking/kata/hyung/breathing, I watched a single heron across the lake, was watched by a fat, happy beagle, and found a large, beautiful grey feather in my path.
I'm leaving for Burning Man in three hours. I always try to have a personal meditation when I hit the playa, and this year I'm working on balance.
From the BF, who always challenges me to learn and grow: "The secret of life," said sculptor Henry Moore to poet Donald Hall, "is to have a task, something you devote your entire life to, something you bring everything to, every minute of the day for your whole life. And the most important thing is it must be something you cannot possibly do." She asks: What is that task for you?
According to Master Gichin Funakoshi: "The aim of Karate lies not in victory, nor defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants."
I'm striving for perfection of character. Thank all ya'll for helping me.
