Dissertation Update
Jun. 2nd, 2004 04:12 pmAs many people have asked how it's going:
My sample is now n=67, a very respectable number, with one more round of matching data to go. Next step: sorting said data into categories of (1) exact diagnostic match, (2) close diagnostic match, and (3)same ballpark match (in the same chapter of the DSM-IVTR). This will be done by June 9th, when my committee meets.
Other news: scored many good chopper and Harley motorcycle parts at a garage sale, including a seat, a wheel, raingear and winterweight gloves, hardware, pipes, electrics, and buckets and cases of hardware. Also got a vise and a tool cabinet for the shop. It's almost like Something is saying "hurry up and build the damn thing."
But, dissertation first.
BTW, the reward for completing my defense? Buying myself a 41-inch Criswell katana. MMMMMmmmm.

Hi!
Date: 2004-06-03 01:16 pm (UTC)N=67 out of a total sample of approximately 100 cases (all of the administered PAIs in a two year period), and each n represents a matched PAI-suggested diagnosis with a clinician diagnosis. An n=50 would be enough for my dissertation, but I'm shooting for n=80, because that's the kind of guy I am. *wry grin*
Hope all's well in JICLand. Thanks for the luck. :>
