Gratitude

I am thankful for my friends and support networks, even if they are far away...they are still there.

I am thankful for my lessons, even if they hurt...they still teach me and I learn.

I am thankful for my experiences, because they help me grow.

I am thankful for my teachers, because they challenge me.

I am thankful for my students, because they allow me to learn more by teaching, and to pass on what I know.

Oh. And, I am thankful for coffee and hushpuppies and BBQ and chili and coleslaw on hamburgers.

No. Let me 'xplain, all ya'll. BBQ is separate, a pulled pork with vinegar, with hushpuppies and coleslaw on the side. They's other BBQ out there, ya'll, but thats that Yankee BBQ with the tomater sauce and all.

The burgers out here, now, they've got a thin layer of chili and coleslaw on them, with onions, ya'll.

A North Carolina speciality and delicacy. *grin*

You know it may or may not be related to your being so Southernfried, but every time I go to type the word window, unless I'm actually THINKING about how to spell it, I end up typing winder.

I do not know why, I always did really well with spelling, and rarely have to use spell check. But as I type more than 60 words a minute, often times when I'm typing, I don't have to think about spelling, especially such common words as and, the, sun, moon, and winder.

But I do it, almost every time. And I usually don't catch it until I'm 4 or 5 words on down the line. So then I end up going back and fixing it. And every time I do, I think about you. *Grins* I can't help but wonder how bad your accent's gotten. I suppose I'm gonna have to break down and call you just to find out.

what's even funnier about this is I don't even PRONOUNCE it winder. I pronounce it winda, as you already know.

We've got this holiday party coming up, and as is often the case with restaurants, we're trading food with another restaurant even stevens. This time it's from the Rib Shack. One of our co-workers has worked there, and swears by their BBQ. He says they have "REAL" BBQ, like you find "down home"

I just laughed, cause all too often it's not. But we'll see. I will find out Monday night, so stay tuned for a full report! I'll be making some of my apple butter. I thought about you as I was buying the ingredients. How are you doing?
