The Rules
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me" or something of an equally pithy nature.
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a very personal nature. Be warned!
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions, or there will be trouble.
4. You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them 5 questions.

My responses to her questions:

1. What fear is there for you in being out of control? The fear is the same as wielding an out-of-control weapon. Someone is likely to get hurt or killed. Having said that, I'm human, and there is a great potential to be out of control. Training reduces that potential.

2. Why the Masons? I joined the Free Masons when a roadbrother's (and another BIMC President) son (and my god son) with CP was medically taken care of by the Shriner's Hospital, sponsored by the Free Masons. They wouldn't accept money for his care, so we both joined the Free Masons to give back to them. We are now both Past Masters and life-time members of our respective Lodges.

3. What touches you so deeply that it makes you vulnerable? Love. Honor. Valor. Service.

4. Which character from the Bugs Bunny cartoons would you be? Maybe Bugs himself. Sam the Sheepdog?

5. If you had to pick only one place to live forever, where would it be? Asia. I would move around and train, and learn, and enjoy the culture and arts, as well as the centuries of tradition.

I think, perhaps, I'd like to offer to interview two people: Simone, and Miss Rebecca. However, I'll interview anyone who responds to this. *smile*

1. What drives you to learn Bushido?

It is important to you, so it is important to me. I have been striving to follow the principles of Bushido all along without knowing what the name was. I have become more focused on what it means, how the principles fit together and internalizing honor, courage, rectitude, loyalty, respect, beneviolence and honesty into a practice since having met you. Thank you for teaching me.

2. What would you be willing to sacrifice for your son?

I owe him my life. I was on a self-destructive path and bringing him into the world changed me. I was very young, and in my heart I just knew it was my one chance to have a child if that is what I wanted. So I planned him and he is just what I had hoped a son of mine would be. I admire him greatly and know once he figures out his path in life, he will do many wonderful things. The real question is, what wouldn't I sacrifice for Jimmie?

3. What is your greatest fear?

Never having one great love of my life to grow old with.

4. What is the one choice you made in your life that you regret the most?

Choosing South Carolina over Hawaii. One selfish decision made out of fear of Sea Duty. Of course, I don't know what would have happened in Hawaii, but I'm 99.9% certain it wouldn't have been like ending up in SC.

5. What would you do if you knew you had 10 days to live?

First I would probably get a big glass of red wine, then I would make a list of all the things I wanted to accomplish in 240 hours. I would contact every person I could who meant something to me or at least attempt to, and either meet them or talk with them. I would save a few days for my closest friends and family and laugh, play and enjoy my time as much as humanly possible. I would have a long talk with the powers that be in the soft moonlight and come to terms with my imminent return to the other side.
