Damned English Oak
Mar. 2nd, 2005 06:55 pmWhen I went home, I found a poem The Seneschal had written for me after finding out my post-internship results, propped on the kitchen table:
Samuel
An Oak Tree
Strong against the sky,
its branches stretching out to sun and wind and rain.
It's roots sink deep into the earth, gripping bedrock.
It's shade and shelter are freely given.
A safe place to be.
Storms blast it. Lightning strikes.
Drought and parching heat.
Ice. Flood. Parasites.
It endures and grows
Reaching for the Sun.
The Trusted One once again proves she deserves her place in my House.
I am very lucky to know her, and very glad she is in my life.
The Dark Samurai, missing armour but upright, with support from many, still moves forward into the Demon. Thank you to everyone who watches.
