Goals/Life Update - Day 200/1001
Apr. 22nd, 2012 03:43 pmGoals Completed: 7
Goals in Progress: 22
I'd hoped to make more progress before being about one-fifth done with my second list. I have sold my house and stopped a lot of financial bleeding, bought a cheap solar charger, re-learned to ride a horse, completed five on-line FEMA courses and a CERT class, and completed 50 We Are What We Do actions and the Throw Out 50 Things Challenge. I recognize that illness and timing and life don't always work together like I'd hoped for. I'm missing opportunities. The priority has to be rebuild the body; I'm still pretty weak.
Body: I'm almost through my second round of antibiotics. I again trained a double-double class this week (#1, #2, #11) despite a lot of coughing and breaks; I'm down to owing myself three classes. Next week, I start daily pushups (#5) and situps (#6). I'll work back up to running. I did attend the Comal County Sheriff's Office tactical shoot (#15) with my Dad and Steph. I managed to consistently shoot center-mass, although I'm less effective with a Glock, the CCSO's duty weapon. I need more practice. I did get good tips for handling other firearms, slidestop control, and better grip cradling.
Mind: I'll finish reading Trungpa's Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior (#28) today. I've changed one of my meditation goals to daily meditation (#39), but I'm not starting it quite yet.
Work: Still cutting down and controlling my work email (#50), for the fifth month.
Life: I volunteered again at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore this week, as well for the Lions White Cane Day (#77). The Central Texas Medical Clinic was providing bloodwork labs for their Health Fair, and I got my blood drawn --- just before the fever and coughing restarted. At least I'll get results to compare my baseline for my upcoming physical exam (#85). In other news, 'Ol Number 3 is starting to get her interior painted, a warm grey. *smile*
