All the world is searching for joy and happiness, but these cannot be purchased for any price in any market place, because they are virtues that come from within. – Lucille R. Taylor

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: We have finished the second of the four overdue October's 'Chaos' workouts, doing it faster and more efficiently. We again worked 4 Rounds of 19 Ground to Overhead Thrusters, 19 Front Squats, 19 Push-ups for each arm, one hand on sandbag or ruck at all times, and then 400-meter Rucks. We again used our rucks (for me, 30-lb.) this round, although I added my 60-lb. sandbag to each of the four rucks. Still left: two workouts, the ruck requirement of a 1-mile Heavy ruck, and the additional tasking. Also, we still have the workout, the additional tasking, and the ongoing daily rucks for December. I have also participated in three Tai Chi/Qigong classes since my last entry, and one more tonight.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I've finished Kill as Few Patients as Possible: And 56 Other Essays on How to Be the World's Best Doctor by Oscar London. I'm still reading The Art of War by Sun Tzu from my permanent library, and Dropping the Struggle: Seven Ways to Love the Life You Have by Roger Housden, and Final Exam: A Surgeon's Reflections on Mortality by Pauline W. Chen. Haiku!

New word: Commodious means "comfortably or conveniently spacious."

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I attended one more Critical Care Transport Provider Course class this week, Environmental Emergencies. I'm also applying for Master Gardener training today.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: No progress.

Adventure/Doing Stuff: Although we'd planned on a monthly road trip adventure, the rain and the winter storm advisory put that plan on hold - so we decided to stay more local this last weekend. Saturday, we visited the Oregon Rail Heritage Center and saw the old huge steam locomotives that Portland has and how they fabricate parts and repair and maintain them, and their amazing history, and then we also went to OMSI for the very well done Mandela exhibit. We also visited Portland's only remaining covered bridge, and hit my tenth roadside attraction (the Paul Bunyan Statue), completing that goal. Sunday, we visited three more covered bridges to complete that goal, geocaching as we went, and we also found a geocache in a Lelorme square I didn't have (during the start of a snowstorm). Fortunately, we got out of the snowy area fairly quickly after making the find.
